Message from the Superintendent
The mission of the Franklin Monroe Local School District is to provide an educational environment, which assures that all students become positive, life-long learners and citizens with integrity.
Welcome to the 2016-17 school year. This is my fifth year as Superintendent of the FM school district. I have become more and more familiar with the community and individuals over that time. Now entering my tenth year as being a Superintendent in the State of Ohio, it is really hard to believe all the changes in public education during that time. I consider myself very lucky to have this opportunity to continue to move this school district forward. This is a great community and we have a fabulous K-12 campus setting for our students. With all of these changes a few things still remain constant and set this district apart from others: strong academics, marvelous extra-curricular programs such as athletics, FFA, band, choirs, among many others; a talented and dedicated staff that supports our students, a strong community and last but definitely not least, great parents that strongly supports the educational process of their students.
I am excited to continue the progress of the FM School District. I am thrilled about the opportunities and will work hard to make sure we are providing the best opportunities for our students to be successful both academically and socially.
One item we have focused on over the years is: “increasing the intellectual capital of every student.” When our students walk across that stage for High School Graduation, I want them to be able to sell themselves to employers or colleges or universities. The global competition for jobs and university admissions is as heated as it has ever been. The students of FM are not just competing with other students from Darke County, the State of Ohio, or from across the United States. They are competing with students from around the world looking for the opportunity to come to this great country. This is a competition that we cannot afford to lose.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call me or email me. I am looking forward to a great school year.
